Our Ingredients
The superiority of Tender Organics lies in the moisturizing properties of high quality, natural, plant-based oils and butters, healing essential oils and alluring, premium-grade fragrance oils.
Our products may contain the following INGREDIENTS:
COLORANTS: All our colorants are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for cosmetic use. We currently only use Cosmetic-grade micas which are safe for use in soap and other body care products.
ESSENTIAL OILS: Aromatic oils extracted from plants have been used medicinally throughout history with many having antiseptic properties. Some of our favorite essential oils to work with currently include:
Lemongrass
FRAGRANCE OILS: Perfume-grade, 100% skin safe fragrances are used because they add a depth and complexity not found in essential oils. Plus, we want to offer fun scents like Sweet Honey, Warm Milk & Oatmeal or Fruity Loops Cereal that would be impossible to reproduce since they cannot be extracted from a plant source.
GLYCERIN: A natural by-product of the soap making process. It is an effective, natural humectant; which means that when it’s applied to the skin it draws in moisture from the environment allowing your skin to stay hydrated for a longer period of time.
OATS (Avena Sativa): Oats are an amazing natural beauty enhancer. They soothe and heal the skin, while reducing inflammation. Also since oats are slightly rough, they are one of nature's most amazing exfoliates. They soften the skin, making it super duper silky smooth. Oats have actually been clinically shown to help heal dry, itchy skin.
COCONUT (Cocos Nucifera) OIL: Rich in lauric, capric, and caprylic acid, these fatty acids have antimicrobial properties and when saponified ( made into soap) give soap its incredible bubbly lather and effective cleansing properties. The abundance of minerals and nutrients in coconut oil are great for your skin and act as anti-oxidants blocking potentially harmful free radicals.
CALENDULA: Uses for Calendula range from beauty to first aid. Calendula is an emollient and can help to moisturize dry skin. It also contains carotenoids which nourish the skin. Perhaps the most common and therapeutic uses of calendula for skin is for healing wounds. It is used on both new and old wounds, is safe for mucous membranes and has a great track record.
OLIVE (Olea Europaea) FRUIT OIL: High in oleic acid, olive oil is good for skin cell regeneration and improving skin’s elasticity. Our olive oil is refined without the use of chemical solvents creating a consistently lush, nourishing bar of soap.
PURIFIED WATER: Free from trace metals and other contaminants found in tap water.
ALMOND (Prunus Dulcis) OIL: Almond oil has been known to effectively delay aging. Regular application nourishes the skin making it smooth and supple to touch. It helps lighten dark complexion making it glow and look healthy. It eradicates irritation, inflammation, and skin rashes. It helps in soothing itchiness and soreness in the skin area affected. It moisturizes deeper, curing chapped and dry lips in the process.
PALM (Elaeis Guineensis) OIL, Sustainable: Palm oil is the largest natural source of tocotrienol, part of the Vitamin E family and produces big bubbles and fluffy lather in soap.
SHEA (Butyrospermum Parkii) BUTTER: In soap, shea butter is a luxurious addition to our formulations producing a wonderfully creamy lather with great conditioning properties. Rich in Vitamins A and E, shea butter is reported to have anti-aging and anti-inflammatory qualities. Shea butter is also the main ingredient in our RAW body butters.
COCOA (Theobroma Cacao Seed) BUTTER : Cocoa beans are good for more than just luscious morsels of chocolate -- they also make a glorious butter. Cocoa butter is simple a shade of white in its organic form. This butter is high in fat, which helps it to deliver deep nourishment and moisture to your skin. For those struggling with eczema, cocoa butter may be worth trying. Although it is often thought of as being a match for preventing stretch marks, Live Science notes that cocoa butter holds no more ability to protect skin against stretchmarks than a placebo. As with any skin-care product, it is best to test a small amount of cocoa butter on an area of your skin as a patch test. If skin doesn't react, proceed with slathering yourself in decadent cocoa butter.
MANGO (Mangifera Indica seed) BUTTER : Derived from the rain-forests of the world, the deliciously sweet fruit of the mango is full of moisture. Mangoes not only nourish the body internally, but they also provide skin with sweet treats. These include moisture, and vitamins A, C and E, which work to combat free radicals. Free radicals are found in the sun's rays and air pollution. When applied to the skin, mango butter has the ability to protect it from the sunburn as well as sooth sunburned skin.
SODIUM HYDROXIDE: Commonly referred to as “lye,” it is necessary for making soap. Our soaps are cured for at least four weeks. During this time the lye evaporates out, lowering the pH to safe levels for use.
SORBITOL: A food-grade humectant and moisturizer used to bring about transparency in soap
